Building an appropriate framework for the realization of a given operation, regardless of its nature, is a fundamental task for success. Achieving legitimacy for an ambition requires a deep understanding of local culture, rules, and practices, as well as the creation of communication and connection platforms that structure the right framework for the effective realization of investments.

We prepare the institutional and business environment to maximize the success of our clients and partners.

We promote the strengthening of institutional relations between investing companies and public and governmental entities of the countries, aiming to facilitate constructive structuring investments discussions.

Strategic cooperation between countries with complementary needs and capabilities generates business opportunities on a broad scale. With this platform in place, countries achieve their strategic objectives, and companies find a more conducive environment for developing their businesses, thus building value for the entire ecosystem.

Statute promotes the realization of these bilateral protocols and actively participates in their implementation and activation. The ability to mobilize, guide, and support implementing agents is one of Statute’s key competencies.

In special cases, Statute is requested to assume the international institutional representation of regions and/or even countries.

Conflicts and deadlocks delay or prevent the implementation of investments and result in financial losses. Even more damaging are reputational damages, which are harder to mitigate/resolve in a geography other than one’s own.

The effective resolution of conflicts and/or deadlock situations among actors/companies/institutions from different countries often requires skills that go beyond the legal framework. The ability to engage in multicultural dialogue, build consensus, as well as knowledge of the channels and paths to follow, are crucial factors that we employ for the benefit of all parties involved.

Promoting and sharing opportunities with potential investors from other regions is often less structured, carried out without knowledge of the business reality of these countries and their respective requirements/procedures and constraints, and always with a culturally inadequate approach in the broadest sense of the word.

Aware that companies are increasingly global and that the economies of countries are becoming more interconnected, we have invested much of our attention and competitive advantages in promoting cross-border investments between our home regions, as well as in attracting investment from other countries to these regions, across all our sectors of activity (infrastructure, renewable energies, real estate, industry, etc.).

Our extensive network of suppliers in China and Brazil, the largest global producers in many sectors, as well as in Portugal, enables us to find the most innovative and competitive solutions for products and equipment, contributing to optimizing the production and operational costs of companies across various sectors that utilize our services, as well as addressing shortages of essential goods.

Aware that large-scale transactions, particularly those with a continuous nature, are best handled by agents and structures whose core business is trading, we have developed an offering associated with the operation of trading companies:

  • We channel requests received to partner trading companies
  • We establish trust relationships between the seller and buyer sides, a fundamental aspect for the realization of operations of this nature.

The need/desire to expand sales to other regions is a slow and complex process. Many factors must be considered and evaluated for a conscious and consistent decision-making process. However, there are dimensions that are not part of the analysis matrix supporting the decision-making process but are crucial
for the success of an expansion operation into new geographies. By addressing this area, we become a factor of success.

We transcend national borders

An option that is always, and rightly so, considered in an investment process in other regions is to establish a partnership with a local agent/company in the sector, through which the investor gains a faster entry and assertion in the market, mitigates risks, reduces the investment value, and gains access to the partner’s experience, knowledge of the local market, and credibility. In this way, the potential for the success of the operation is maximized, and the return on investment is anticipated.

In addition to our universe of clients and partners, where we typically find the most reliable and quickly implementable solutions, we have the skills and methodology that allow us to find the best solution for each situation.

Because our interest extends beyond the selection of the local business partner, but rather to ensure the success of partnerships and, consequently, the achievement of operation objectives, we remain present for sufficient time to allow investments to be implemented and partnerships to be consolidated. To this end, we not only ensure strategic business viability partnerships but also provide solutions for practical needs to be met by service providers.

Although our focus (and even less our skills and strengths) is not on bureaucratic aspects, we believe we should support our clients comprehensively, so we also provide these services (using our specialized partners in each of the regions).

Many times, companies opt for less exhaustive entries in terms of investment in new regions, seeking to place their products and/or brands in a given country without the need to establish a physical presence there. There are also many situations where local companies aim to enrich and expand their portfolio with

products/brands from other regions.

In these situations, we select and negotiate with the most suitable local partners. Typically, in both cases, these are processes that require an extensive set of validations for which we rely on our knowledge and local partners. If there are no insurmountable legal constraints, and the party expressing the need demonstrates genuine commitment and capability for the operation, our success rate in meeting these objectives is remarkable.

Scaling Businesses

The dynamics of mergers and acquisitions is a growing trend, which has resulted in increasingly larger and more global companies/groups, further elevating the phenomenon of globalization to a new level.

We always have a significant flow of assets coming from our home countries for promotion, as well as specific orders from various regions. After analyzing the assets and characterizing the orders, we proceed with our approach in the respective markets, always starting with the clients and partners of the Statute Universe.
